Quorum Technologies Scholarship Winner 2007

Quorum Technologies, working in partnership with the Image and Analysis Unit in the University of Brighton's Faculty of Science and Engineering, is pleased to announce the first winner of an annual Quorum Technologies Scholarship.
The recipient of this year’s prize was Carly Lovjoy, an undergraduate student who has completed her degree through working in the Image and Analysis Unit in Brighton.
The cash prize was awarded for the best final year project, where there is evidence of the use of electron microscopy critical to the success of the project.

New factory for Quorum Technologies
August 2007
After six years of steady growth, we have relocated to a larger factory at Ringmer near Lewes - some 10m north of Newhaven in Sussex. The new site offers us considerably more manufacturing and office space, plus the opportunity to double the manufacturing area should this become necessary in the future.
Following our earlier decision to concentrate cryo-related systems in Sussex, this new site in Ringmer has allowed us to create a spacious, modern cryo-SEM demonstration facility and development lab, plus a clean environment for instrument assembly.
With our conventional sample preparation and coating systems concentrated at our Ashford site in Kent, the whole business is now well-placed for the growth that we plan.
Distribution change in USA
June 2007
By mutual agreement Emitech Products Inc. (EPI), a company wholly owned by Linda Dailey, will no longer be representing Quorum Technologies Ltd, or the former Emitech Ltd product line within the USA.
EPI have successfully repositioned their business since the acquisition of the UK-based Emitech Ltd by Quorum Technologies in 2005 and are now concentrating on distribution of mini-SEMs for a major OEM. EPI will continue to provide after-sales service and support for their major OEM account, but all other customers and enquiries are referred to Energy Beam Sciences (EBS), email: ebs@ebsciences.com.
EBS is Quorum Technologies' master distributor in the USA and has invested heavily in US-based service parts inventory and support staff. EBS will be assuming responsibility for the sales and support of those areas of the southern USA previously managed by Emitech Products Inc.
