![]() CC7650 SEM carbon coater |
The CC7650 SEM carbon coater is a fully integrated bench top carbon evaporation system designed to coat up to six SEM samples for EDS and WDS applications
. It is also ideal for coating samples to be
imaged by back scatter detection systems. Rapid and reproducible
results are assured and a 3 year
warranty is provided. Carbon coating for X-ray microanalysis (PowerPoint file) SEM carbon coating - some tips and ideas for better coating (pdf file) |

In its standard format the CC7650 SEM carbon coater is supplied with a CA076F carbon fibre head.
A carbon
rod head (CA076R) is an option. Both types of
head are carefully designed to make loading and unloading of carbon
evaporation material easy. Manual operation of the system ensures
total control of the out gassing of the Carbon source prior to evaporation.
The SC7605 carbon rod grinder is also
available for custom shaping of carbon rods. The variable voltage power supply is switchable between 20V / 50A for carbon fibre 'flash' evaporation and 10V / 100A for carbon rod evaporation. A standard height adjustable stage allows samples of varying thickness to be positioned at optimal distances from the carbon source. For samples with very irregular surfaces, the optional RC7606 rota cota stage will help to ensure more even coating. A water cooled stage option (WS7608) is available. |

Requirements
| A 90 l/m two-stage rotary pump with oil mist filter is recommended (see E5005G). If customer is intending to use an existing rotary pump it is important that its capacity is 90 l/m or greater. |

Stages and stage options
The CC7650 carbon coater is fitted with a standard "universal" sample stage.
There are two interchangeable stage options (please note: only one stage can
be fitted at any time):
|
|
|
| RC7606 Rota cota stage (includes built-in
motor) The RC7606 rota cota replaces the existing universal stage and allows the operator to dynamically tilt and rotate samples with respect to the carbon evaporation source. So for samples with complicated surfaces the RC7606 option is useful for ensuring even deposition of carbon. |
|
| WS7608 water cooled sample stage. An optional water cooled sample stage can replace the standard universal stage. The WS7608 water cooled sample stage is sometimes useful for samples that have melting points at around ambient temperature (e.g. some waxes). |
