The K850 Critical Point Dryer - with built in thermoelectronic heating & adiabatic cooling
An explanation of the critical point dryingprocess
|
|
|
The K850 Critical Point Dryer combines versatility and ease of operation. The vertical pressure chamber (32mm diameter. x 47mm high) chamber is optimised for minimum CO2 usage. A side viewing port gives a good view of the liquid meniscus during filling. The K850 is fitted with thermo-electronic heating and adiabatic cooling and temperature control of +5°C cooling and +35°C during heating. This ensures the critical point is accurately obtained, |
The K850 is fitted with three valves: fluid inlet, flushing and a gas venting
system which uses a fine needle valve to give controlled pressure let down - essential for optimum sample
preservation.
A built in magnetic stirrer ensures thorough mixing of samples with circulating fluids. The standard specimen
holder has 12 wells (8mm diameter x 8mm high) and is mount on a compact, two level holder
For very small specimens CPD800A porous pots are available (see options).
Each K850 critical point dryer is pressure tested and carries an appropriate certificate. To ensure safety a
bursting disc is fitted.
