Main Purpose Of Job
A stores-based role primarily focused on receiving, storing, picking materials, packing Instruments/spares and arranging courier collections for onward shipment to end users. Responsible for the physical inventory, ensuring that stock accuracy is maintained at all times (i.e. all physical stock transactions are matched to corresponding system transactions). Ensuring that the Stores and Goods Inward/Despatch areas are kept tidy and that all activities are carried out safely. Quorum Technologies is a commercially driven environment, with emphasis on delivering high quality products to our global customer base. You will be working with a highly skilled and motivated team that is keen on developing best practice stores procedures.
Role and Responsibilities
- Receive materials, kits and goods from suppliers and customers, checking paperwork against outstanding orders.
- Transacting goods into the ERP system against appropriate orders in a timely fashion.
- Physically and system wise locate materials and components in the relevant locations.
- Process incorrect / damaged deliveries, segregate non-conforming product and arrange return to supplier in collaboration with the Buyer.
- Use of Counterbalance forklift truck to both receive and despatch goods to and from vehicles.
- Accurately pick and issue production kits against relevant documentation.
- Ensure that all Kanban items are replenished in a timely manner- Stock locations outside stores are still controlled by stores.
- Ensure that stock adjustment requests are processed in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain accurate stock through diligent control of all movements as per company procedures, and in general to ISO9001.
- In liaison with the Production Manager, identify, separate & control non-conforming materials, including supporting documentation.
- Undertake weekly perpetual inventory stock counts to confirm stated system stock and physical stock match.
- Receipt and transact Service items returned from customers, notifying the Service department of its arrival.
- Receipt Sales Demonstration Instruments, notifying Sales/Service/Demo stock controller (Applications Specialist) and following agreed processes
- Packing Instruments, accessories and spares to ensure safe passage to their domestic or international destinations; ensuring that the correct shipping labels are affixed to the packages (i.e. courier shipping labels, packing list and commercial invoices).
- Scan the production build and test documents into SAP (containing test results and all serial number items used); attaching the scanned document to the appropriate Equipment Card.
- Schedule and book courier collections for onward shipment to end users using third-party IT systems (e.g. DHL, UPS, FEDEX/TNT) Note: All direct customer communications will be through the Sales Admin team only.
- Ensure couriers complete the collection notes for all shipments; completed collection notes to be attached to the associated delivery document in SAP.
- Identify and reduce waste and non-value-added activities within the department
- Carry out continuous improvement projects within the department.
- Carry out other reasonable tasks as required by Management.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- A good general level of education evidenced by O-level/ good GCSE passes in English and Maths.
- Counterbalance Forklift truck licence holder.
- A full, clean UK driving licence.
Required Experience
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate that they have:
- At least 3-years’ experience gained within a high-value electro-mechanical manufacturing stores environment.
- Experience of MRP and computer-controlled stock control systems.
- Knowledge and experience of stock handling, stock rotation and cycle counting processes.
- Experience of Lean principals and processes.
- Ability to pass a colour perception test.
Preferred Experience
While not essential, the following experience would be a distinct advantage:
- Experience gained using Lean manufacturing techniques (e.g. Kaizen, Kan-ban, 5S, etc.).
- Experience gained using SAP Business One.
- Experiencing in using courier systems to schedule and book onward shipment of product (e.g. DHL, UPS, FEDEX/TNT).
Required Skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings.
- Ability to achieve set targets and work to customer driven time pressures in support of the company’s production and shipping requirements.
- Excellent planning and organising skills.
- Strong time management and prioritisation capabilities.
- Must have the personality to be able to fit into a small team.
- Essential that individual is highly motivated, pro-active and able to work unsupervised.
- Must be able to work in a modern team-based culture with minimal direction.

Sales, Service, Operations, Engineering and Couriers.

- Must be of smart appearance.
- Good colour perception, ability to pass colour perception test.
