Sputter Coating images
Comparative sputtered films using the Q150T Turbo-Pumped Sputter/Carbon Coater (Au, Pt, Cr and Ir)
The films were sputtered onto silicon wafers using the Quorum Q150T Turbo-Pumped Sputter/Carbon Coater. Film thicknesses: 50 nm. Images were taken on an FEI Quanta 200 FEG ESEM at 30 kV at 250,000 x magnification.
Images from left to right: gold (A), platinium (Pt), chromium (Cr) and iridium (Ir)

Mosquito - coated and uncoated comparison
A Mosquito (Culex pipiens s.l.) dried and imaged in a JEOLJSM-6010LV. The left hand image: uncoated and observed in low vacuum mode. Right hand image: coated with gold using the Quorum Q150R sputter coater.
