Bread Mould

The SEM image shows mould (penicillium) found on bread. The sample was mounted using mounting media (50:50 mixture of Tissue-Tek OCT and colloidal graphite). Using the PP3010 Cryo Preparation System, the sample was frozen in slush LN₂, cryo fractured, sublimated (2 minutes) and coated with Ir (5 mA, 60 seconds) at -140 °C. Imaged using a Thermo Fisher Apreo ChemiSEM.
