Diatom

This SEM image shows a diatom. The sample was prepared through chemical dehydration with ethanol and DMP (2,2-dimethyloxypropane), then deposited on ACLAR film and coated with Au/Pd for 60 seconds using a MiniQ S before being imaged on a Hitachi FlexSEM.
